Easter Story

Listen to another version of The Easter Story that you heard yesterday.

Math - Counting to 10

Here is a fun way to move around and practice counting.  Make sure you have room to hop, run, walk and skip! Count, sing, move, follow directions and have fun!

After you’ve finished this activity, go to IXL and work on Math - Section C.  There are 13 categories in this counting section.  Start with 1 and work your way through at your own pace.  Also, if you haven’t already completed Section A (numbers to 3) or Section B (numbers to 5), you may work on those as well.  Happy counting!

Letter Vv - Writing

Practice “writing” in the air with Jack Hartman.  If you can, practice in shaving cream, a homemade “sandbox”, dry erase board, etc.  There is a practice sheet attached in the email.

Easter Math: 1-10

Practice counting and then complete the color sheet on your parent’s email.  Color the eggs.  Cut on the dotted line.  Put them in order 1-10.  If you don’t have the provided sheet, draw, color and number your own eggs 1-10.  Have fun!

Letter Uu - Story

Letter Uu makes the sound you hear at the beginning of “underwear”.  Enjoy the story of Polar Bear’s Underwear.  See if you can guess whose underwear they have found before the page is turned.  After you listen to the story, see if you can decorate your own pair of underwear.  There is a paper pattern on an attachment in the parent’s email or you may draw your own.  Have fun!

5 Senses

We have previously learned about our 5 senses.  Here is a short video to review them.  When you are done, you can complete the cut/glue activity sheet or you can make your own sheet with eyes, ears, nose, mouth, and hands and draw something that you see, hear, smell, taste and feel.  Have fun!

I Want to Rhyme

Here is an energizing way to practice rhyming words.  Stand up and be ready to listen and move!

Classmates

Genevieve drew a picture for the Grandpals at Ave Maria.  She thought they might be lonely and wanted to do her part to cheer them up.  So sweet!

Christopher enjoyed working on an Easter craft.

Letter Uu

Join the Sesame Street gang to learn more about the letter Uu.  Be sure and participate with movement and shout backs.  Have fun!

Rhyme Time

Remember that rhyming words sound the same at the end of the word.  Listen carefully!

Learning at Home

It’s good to see Elizabeth enjoying My Letter “u” Book.  I wonder how many “u” words she can name now.

Since her dad is a fire fighter, she got to see his fire department during a drill.  Even fire fighters have to keep practicing!

Letter Uu - Writing Skills

Below are 2 fun ways to practice writing letter Uu.  One is a pizza box (any shallow box or box top will do) filled with oatmeal (sand, rice, salt, etc will work too).  “Write” with your finger, “erase” by shaking the box gently, repeat!   The other is a baking sheet, covered with tinfoil.  Squirt just a small amount of shaving cream, spread it out and write away!  It’s a little messy but I’m guessing you have plenty of time for clean up.

Letter Uu - Reading Fun

Enjoy this funny, silly story about aliens and their underpants!  When you are done, draw a picture of your own alien with underpants.  Be creative and have fun!

Rhyming Words

We have practiced a little in class on rhyming words but we will begin to practice more from here on out.  Rhyming is difficult for some children so be patient and keep practicing!  Remember, rhyming words sound the same at the end so listen carefully.  Enjoy this video with all of the “at” rhyming words.

What’s going on at your house?

Take a look at how some of your classmates are playing and learning at home.  Good job boys and girls!

Who is working at home?

This picture is from last week.  Sorry! I meant to post it sooner.  Way to go Christopher!  Good to see you are working hard at home.  If  you would like to email me picures of your child working, I’ll be happy to share them.  It’s more important than ever to see the smiling faces that we miss so much!

Letter Uu

Here is an example of what your umbrella can look like.  You may color or decorate yours any way you like!  Feel free to be creative!

Here is a read aloud of the book that I would have read had we been in class.   After you listen to the read aloud,  see if you can name some of the “u” words.  Click the book.  Happy reading!

Students are familiar with Jack Hartman from classroom exposure to his fun and educational videos.  Practice letters, sounds and beginning sounds while getting in a little exercise.  Have fun!

First Day of Spring

Students have met Mouse before in earlier stories.  Remember when Mouse first went to school hidden in a backpack and met new friends?  Remember when Mouse made valentines?  Well, now Mouse is learning about Spring.  Listen to the story about Mouse’s First Spring.  If you can, take a walk today and see if you can find signs of spring.  Draw a spring picture.  Have fun and enjoy the first day of spring!
